For many individuals affected by ear differences, the psychological burden can be significant, leading to feelings of self-consciousness and isolation.

By addressing these differences through surgical intervention, patients can experience a transformative change in both their appearance and their outlook on life.

Microtia & Anotia

Microtia is a congenital malformation characterized by an underdeveloped or absent external ear (pinna). There are several grades of microtia, ranging from a small ear to complete absence of the ear, also known as anotia.

Hearing impairment and other differences of the ear and face can occur with microtia and anotia and should be treated by a comprehensive, multidisciplinary care team. Other conditions can be associated with microtia and anotia and include Oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum, hemifacial/craniofacial microsomia, Goldenhar syndrome, and Treacher Collins Syndrome.
